WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT
Job Description
Your primary responsibilities, which include but are not limited to, are as follows:
Receive Merchandise:
- Receive boxes into warehouse, ensure box count is correct.
Merchandise Unpacking & Preparation:
- Unpack merchandise
- Inspect shipments of merchandise for damage, mis-shipped items, merchandise that does not match packing slips.
- Security tag clothing and accessories properly according to warehouse procedure and standards. Take special care to not damage fabrics.
- Ensure all merchandise brought to sales floor has proper security tags.
- Change clothing to proper hangers, and bring up to sales floor or prepare for transfer.
Merchandise Transfer:
- Preparation of merchandise to be transferred to other locations.
- Ensure all items leaving warehouse have proper security tags.
- Ensure all items leaving warehouse have been properly transferred through computer system.
- Go on transfer trips with warehouse manager.
Administrative Tasks:
- Assist with several administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, data entry, and mail sorting
Salesfloor Support
- When needed on the salesfloor, support the sales associates by helping them return merchandise back to the floor, by emptying hangers and garbage from cash counters, and by restocking cash counters with bags, boxes, etc.
- Help to maintain store visual presentation standards (folding, hanging, cleaning)
- Demonstrate initiative to take care of what needs to be done and ask associates how you can help them
General Work:
- Moving boxes, store fixtures.
- Putting up and taking down signs.
- Changing light bulbs (sometimes high up).
- Data Entry and general office work when needed.
Store Policy and Teamwork:
- Comply with all store operation policy and procedures
- Adhere to work schedule, inclusive of time and attendance.
- Be flexible with schedule during busy seasons (Fall & Spring)
